Hibakusha Stories - Hiroshima Bombing Survivors, Thursday, Dec 5th

Hibakusha (n. pl.)  a survivor of the atomic-bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 

On Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.-12:20 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., the faculty of Tulsa Community College, sponsored by the college Peace Studies initiative, will host free and open presentations of two survivors, Toshiko Tanaka and Shigeko Sasamori, to tell their first-hand experience of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 & 9, 1945.
 

The two sessions will be held in the Southeast Campus Student Union Building Chatroom.

Hibakusha Stories, an initiative of Youth Arts New York,  informs youth about the dangers of nuclear weapons, nuclear power and the long-lived ionizing radiation that results from these twin technologies. There is now a precious and closing window of opportunity for hibakusha to share their stories of hope and survival.  

This is a rare opportunity to hear living history, don’t miss it!
