Have a happy Columbo Day on October 13th! Oh, and
just one more thing…
Should you happen to find yourself close to a TCC library
and are in the mood for a mystery or thriller, I’ll spoil the ending: you won’t
be disappointed! The library has an excellent
selection of both classic and new mysteries sure to leave you deep in suspense!
Are you in the mood for a classic mystery? Some works, such as the novels of Agatha
Christie or the Sherlock
Holmes stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle never go out of style. In fact, Sherlock Holmes is enjoying
something of a renaissance presently thanks to TV shows like Sherlock and Elementary. Check out the
stories and get a peek at the source material those TV writers are most
certainly raiding for script ideas!
For a modern mystery, try Tana French’s The Likeness or Lee Child’s Killing Floor. French’s novel follows the main character,
Detective Cassie Maddox of Dublin’s murder squad as she investigates the murder
of a woman who appears to be her double.
If you are interested in a series, Child’s novel is the first of the
Jack Reacher series. Follow Jack as he
clears his name of the crime of murder… on the edge of your seat!
You can search for current and popular titles in the library
catalog, or stop in and browse the mystery displays at the Southeast and
Northeast library, the true crime section at West, and the new leisure reading
section at Metro.
